Many of us have fond, summertime memories of the melted, neon red popsicle juice dripping down our chins. These popsicles are a clean take on our childhood favorites.  Using natural and simple ingredients, you can create these festive treats that the whole family will love and feel good about serving!

Red, White and Blue Popsicle Recipe

Red Fruity Layer

  • 1/2 of fresh watermelon
  • 8 oz fresh strawberries
  • 2 scoops acai powder

Blend all ingredients together. Pour into popsicle molds (1/3 of the way full) Let freeze for about 2-4 hours. I carry these popsicle molds in my store, or you can get the rocket popsicle molds.

White Pina Colada Layer

  • 1 13.5 oz can of coconut milk (I used full fat)
  • 1/2 of a large banana
  • 1 cup of pineapple

Blend all ingredients together. Once the red layer is frozen, fill the mold another 1/3 of the way, and then put it back in the freezer. Wait another 2-4 hours.

Blue Spirulina Blueberry Layer

  • 1 13.5 oz can of coconut milk (again, I used full fat coconut milk)
  • 2 scoops of blue spirulina powder
  • 1 pint of blueberries

Blend all ingredients together. Add the final layer. Freeze another 2-4 hours.

To remove from molds, run under lukewarm water and wiggle the stick around a bit to loosen, before giving a gentle pull.

This recipe is easy to customize and change to incorporate other superfood powders. Elderberry powder is an excellent, immune boosting alternative to acai berry powder and is packed full of antioxidants. Beet root powder adds beautiful, red color as well as nutrients including B vitamins, iron, manganese, copper, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, and fiber.

Maca root, marine collagen, and ashwagandha are colorless options to include for an extra boost of nutrients.

If you make these popsicles, let us know in the comments. We would love to hear how you customize and make them your own!

About the Author

Nancy Smith from A Carrot A Day

On 03/09/2008 I was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. I was in disbelief! One day after an oncologist appointment, my mother mentioned that we need to figure out who will take the kids if I die. That’s when I decided that there was no way I could die! My kids needed me, and I still had so much life left to live. I was determined to live, and I told her that I refused to die! I did have surgery, but when my oncologist suggested chemo/radiation I was adamant that I would not have that (she said I could die without at least the radiation to my surrounding lymph nodes). More than cancer I feared being sick from these procedures.

That’s when I started googling everything I could on how to cure my cancer. I went down many different rabbit holes and discovered a myriad of health and healing solutions and most importantly health communities. I have been researching and incorporating different healing remedies ever since.

I started with Budwig and went onto Square One and the journey continues. If nothing else these protocols made me feel better. And guess what? I have been cancer-free ever since. I am not claiming these protocols cured me. It could have been the surgery. It could have been my sheer determination. It could have been divine intervention. We will never know. What I do know is that eating healthier and living a healthier lifestyle made me feel so good! Better than ever actually!!

I believe that our bodies were made to heal themselves and if we give them the proper foundation of nutrients and care we will have the ability to transform our health and our lives.
