As summer comes to a close and school starts back up, so do the germs!
Whether you are a parent or work in the school system you know that this is the time of year that your immune system can use a little boost. Here are four of our must haves for the transition from summer to fall.

First is our BE WELL tea. This tea is formulated with all of the best organic immune supportive herbs like Echinacea, Eleuthero root, and Elderberry. We love to sip this tea daily as a preventative.

Secondly is Activated Charcoal. I make sure to never run out of charcoal! You never know when that stomach bug, food poisoning, etc is going to hit. As soon as anyone in our house starts feeling icky with tummy troubles we all start taking activated charcoal. It binds to any toxins and bugs in your digestive system and helps to flush them out (make especially sure to stay hydrated with taking charcoal so that it can eliminate the toxins faster). For my family the easiest way to take it is by adding a tsp to water, lemon, honey, and salt. This little electrolyte drink will help nourish and flush!

Third, healing salve! It is made with organic herbs like comfrey, plantain, yarrow, and calendula. This gentle salve is perfect for any bumps, bruises, rashes, and scrapes that inevitably come up with kids (of all ages). We love to keep this on hand and as the weather cools down it is great to use on wind chapped/dry skin as well.

Lastly and maybe most familiar to many of our customers is Elderberry Syrup! Over the last few years elderberry syrup has become exceedingly popular and even sold in mainstream stores. Herbal syrups are really simple to make and fantastic for children since they are sweet and easy to take. Usually elderberry syrup is made from dried elderberries, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and raw honey. We have a blogpost walking you thorough our method of making herbal syrups (including elderberry syrup).

We believe that these four remedies will help you to feel prepared to deal with any minor illness and injuries that some your way this school year. Do you have something that you would add? Let us know here or on our Facebook and Instagram accounts! We love to hear from our fellow herb lovers. 🙂
