Gentian Root (C/S, Conventional)


Botanical Name: Gentiana lutea L.

Components: The root of the gentian plant is harvested after 7-10 growing seasons, then cut up and used to treat many ailments. Its medicinal properties were discovered by King Gentius of Illyria around 180-167 B.C. and has been used to heal ever since.

Overview: Gentian root helps protect the liver and increase its functionality. It has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and angiogenic properties that have made it beneficial for digestion, treating gastrointestinal issues, and kidney health. It also is used to treat anemia, fight free radicals, and speed up recovery. Gentian root can help cure colds, reduce fever, soothe sore throats, and reduce headaches, delirium episodes, muscle spasms and convulsions as well as improving circulation and strengthening the entire body.

Uses: Gentian root can be made into a tonic, tea, tincture or extract, or powdered and encapsulated as a supplement.
