Overview: Slippery elm bark contains large amounts of mucilage, a gummy fiber that soothes inflamed mucous membranes inside the mouth and gastrointestinal tract. Due to the antioxidants in slippery elm, it is a great remedy for wounds, burns, boils, psoriasis, dermatitis, and other external skin conditions.
