Botanical Name: Hericium erinaceus
Components: This edible and medicinal fungus appears to have fur, with thin ridges forming the cap. While they look like small, fluffy animals, these mushrooms actually taste like seafood, which makes them a popular addition in the kitchen. When harvested, our Lion’s Mane mushrooms are dried and powdered to create a medicinal supplement.
Overview: Medicinally, Lion’s Mane mushrooms are thought to protect from dementia, reducing mild depression and anxiety and increase recovery from nervous system injuries. The digestive and cardiovascular systems also benefit from consumption of this fungus, which also helps regulate diabetes and oxidative stress.
Uses: When whole, the mushrooms can be eaten either raw or dried. If powdered, it can be added to soups or other liquids, as well as encapsulation as a dietary supplement.
